Back finally
I am back from a wonderful vacation, which was all about excitement, wrong turns, and the Amish. Riding in car with your parents when you are 24 can be very interesting. Especially while listening to books on tape. We listened to Truth or Dare by Jayne Ann Krentz, the book was incredibly boring, too many characters, and too many things going on. But there were parts of the book that got very hot and explicit. Now normally this wouldn't bother me, but sitting there listening with my parents, made me quite uncomfortable. My mom and dad were laughing because they could see how embarrassed I was getting. When we stopped to get gas I made the mistake of saying " At least you guys weren't taking notes", which my dad replied "Honey, we don't need to take notes, I am sure I could teach a class and I know your mother could", eww gross. This was stuff I did not need to know. Yes I know that my parents had to have sex in order to concave my brother and me. But the thought of them having it is not what I wanted to hear. At that moment I took out my little book that I keep ideas on and wrote ".. Note to self.. when traveling with parents put on your headset and keep your mouth shut..." Moving on to a lighter subject, I live in Florida where there is no smoking indoors, unless they sell less then 10% of food. So, seeing people smoke in buildings is a whole new world. In North Carolina about 90 some miles north of the border, there is a store called JR's. This store is an outlet of generic items, except for cigarettes. As you walk into the store there is not an ashtray that a person who smokes can extinguish their cigarette, signs that read no smoking are no where to be seen. While walking through the store, that is where you see ashtrays, so you can actually smoke in the store. Another fact, the employees smoke. Not on a break, while working. My mom and dad stop there whenever we go north on I-95, to get cheap cigarettes. I don't know if I trust anyone that can't wait for a break to indulge in a habit.

The rest of the trip went fairly smooth, my nephew is so smart and cute. We were treated to a free meal at my brother’s restaurant, at the country club. I contemplated changing my name to Buffy for the evening. On Saturday before we left we went to a Celtic festival, which was pretty cool. Lots of men in kilts. We tried to get my dad in one, but he complained he didn't have the legs for it. On the way back I started getting sick because of going from warm to cold, back to warm again. Ahh the joys of travel.

Does anyone know where I can by black market gas?
While running my errands today, I noticed I was getting low on gas, so the first gas station I saw I pulled in. As I slid my bankcard into the gas pump, I looked at the price-$1.99 for regular unleaded gas! I asked around at the gas station to other patrons, to see if this was normal, and it was a resounding yes. Watching T.V. during work today, a local news channel says, " AAA has offered some help..." For a brief moment I thought that just maybe if you were an AAA member you would get a discount at some gas stations. I would have signed up for that, who wouldn't have? But then I continued "... They said people have to be willing to drive around to look for the best price. What? If you drive around looking for the best price you just wasting gas, ergo having to buy more gas when you reach the lowest price. I know where I can get the lowest price closest to me, which is in Georgia, because they don't have as high of taxes. But there is no way that I am going to drive 4 hours for cheaper gas.

After getting my diamond-encrusted gas, I ventured off to Toys R Us to get the presents for my nephew Jackson, and Carla's son Logan. As I walked in, there was a clearance rack, that had everything ranging from the Simpson’s' lesser-known characters, to the Spice Girls action figures. It was really nostalgic for me. Then it was time to begin my hunt. I had to find toys for a 2 year old and a 9 year old; you don't realize how hard that is until you get there. See my bother doesn't know that we coming so I can't really ask him what to get Jackson. My mother had already got him the Play-Doh stuff, so I was out of ideas. Luckily, Carla had told me just to get Logan Yu-Gi-Oh cards, so that was done. After having a nervous breakdown in the middle of the store, I just picked up some Boo-Bah toys, one of the mothers were nice enough to take care of me and help me out. Being single, with no kids does have its advantages, but it has its disadvantages too.

No matter if it rains or snows
I received the Art of Writing workshop box today in the mail. It came with a journal, writing exercises, and book, and a pen. The plethera of writing exercises, are very useful. They range from how to make time to write, to writing essays. Not all of the exercises are writing, which is very useful. Now I don't know how this is going to make be a better writer. We will see. I am pretty excited about the first writing excersise, which instructs:
"Channel the voice of a genius. Certain writers have very specific styles, and on the path to discovering your own voice, it can be useful to practice a bit of mimicry. Choose a writer with a distinct voice - like Ernest Hemingway, e.e. cummings, Emily Dickinson, Gertrude Stein - and read their work, paying attention to what makes their writing stand out. Then sit down and write your own prose or poetry, applying their style to your piece."

So I will do that, I have an collection of poems by Emily Dickinson, so most likely I will use her. Although Jewel does her own unique writings.

Other News, I am going to Virgina!!! I just found out today. I am going to visit my nephew for his 2nd birthday. Found out yesterday that he just got into using playdoh, so I guess I am going to Toys 'R' Us. I should also pick something loud up, to annoy my brother and my sister-in-law, since I don't live with him. Oh the Joys of being Aunt. I guess when I finally have children I will get it all back, and probably five times worse. I went there last year around this time, its so beautiful. Cool air, changing of the leaves what could be better? Of course you know me, I will have pictures.

For my readers
I figured out something today. I enjoy writing. I guess that is why I do this on a regular basis. This has become an outlet for me. Even though I don't right much about my life. So what I want to do is become a better writer. I bought some guides from Amazon to assist me. So hopefully it will help.

What I want to know from you is what do you want to hear? What would you like to see on here? I am not a complainer, I leave that for the live journal people (Have you ever read that stuff??) . If you want to see pictures of anything just tell me, and I try to suceed. Just let me know guys!

Close Encounters.
As I was reading the Internet today, one story in particular caught my attention. It was a story how this boy in high school was charged with a 4th degree sexual assault charge for giving is ex-girlfriend a wedgie.

Normally I would read the story, laugh, and go to the next one. But this one became very close to me. The high school that this happened in was Muskego High School, it is located in south Wisconsin in a little town called Muskego. I would have went there if my family would have stayed in Wisconsin. I didn't live there, but the town I lived in (Wind Lake) was too small for a high school, so I would have been bussed there. My oldest brother graduated from there, and my sister went there before we moved to Florida. I believe this is just a small town making a big deal about nothing, to get recognized in big media.

Yes, wedgies can be painful, it can be embarrassing, but to get arrested for it?? Kids tease kids, its a fact of life. I was teased when I was a kid, all the way up until 4th grade. Till I beat up a kid and all the other kids were afraid of me. Okay that’s a lie, I never beat up anyone. I am actually one of the easiest going persons you'll ever meet. I learned from the experience and in a weird way it molded me into the person I am today. I stand up for myself, I don't let petty things distract me, I let my voice be heard, and I carefully choose my battles. Who knows what would have happened if I didn't get teased. I could be better, or I could be worse.

What I do know is that the parents should be the one to punish the kids, not the authorities. We as Americans are giving to many of our rights away. We are letting the government make more and more decisions for us. Okay maybe I am going overboard. Who knows.

Long time, no see
I know its been a while since I have updated. I finally got my power back on sunday. I was so happy. 7 days with out power. I don't recommend anyone go through that. I stayed at my sisters most of the time. My sister now wants me move in with her. Which I don't think I would mind. But she only lives in a two bedroom now.

I am so burnt out from working all the overtime that I did, I am only working the straight 40 hours this week. Which is cool, it will actually be 48 hours because of working on saturday.

this is a short update... I plan to update so much more.
